Despite the fact that we have reached October, this suffocating heat has campus feeling like it’s still summer. However, this weather has given me a greater appreciation for autumn and has only reminded me that fall is without a doubt the best season.
From days so miserably hot I can’t even think to days so insanely cold I can’t feel the tip of my nose, fall is the perfect in-between. When else can I wear a sweater on top and a skirt on the bottom and not feel like a hot pocket or an icicle?
From the incredible food to the beautiful weather, fall is by far the best season. Fall offers us a unique selection of foods that fit perfectly with the season and are absolutely delicious.
Pumpkin anything and everything? Yes, please.
That $10 iced pumpkin chai is almost worth its insane price for the lovely fall vibes. It’s the best time of year to dine in at Panera and study with your friends. A soup plus fresh bread is all I could ever want on a slightly chilly day. No one is eating a stew in spring or summer. It’s only a chilly-outside activity.
While I could have soup in the winter as well, a squash or pumpkin soup in the fall? Who could ask for anything better?
The beauty of nature when fall comes is arguably the prettiest time of year.
Witnessing the leaves slowly change from green to yellow, orange, and red is what I look forward to seeing when I wake up.
You won’t catch me taking a long walk in the heat of summer, but fall? Every day! It’s the perfect way to destress and remember how beautiful life can be. When it’s hot out, I get sweaty just walking to classes in this heat, whereupon I enter said class, and the temperature is freezing!
In fall, however, I don’t need to worry about the hassle. A light sweater and jeans will do just fine. I don’t need to sweat it.
Fall also elevates a simple night into a cozy one. Certain shows don’t give off the same energy any other time of year like they do during fall. “Gilmore Girls” and a hot cup of tea? Yes, please! Binging “Over the Garden Wall”? The best way to spend a night. Not to mention Halloween and Thanksgiving, two incredible holidays in the best season of the year!
Dressing up in a silly costume and getting candy? Who doesn’t love that? Eating homemade food and a pumpkin pie while the weather is perfect and outside looks like a movie? What else do you need in a season?
Overall, fall is superior for numerous reasons, and I can’t wait for the fall season to officially begin!
