The Baby Fold of Normal, IL will be hosting its 26th annual Festival of Trees on November 22nd through the 24th.
The festival includes a large show of holiday trees and wreaths.
And a silent auction and assorted holiday vendor booths, will be held at the Interstate Center in Bloomington.
All of the proceeds will go to The Baby Fold, a local nonprofit organization that provides services to over 1200 people a year.
The organization serves to provide children and families with the resources to lead whole, healthy lives, in adoption, fostering, special education and early intervention programming.
The Baby Fold has been crucial to the Bloomington-Normal community since 1902.
The organization provides a variety of family support services, including preservation-focused adoption and foster care support, and early intervention programs for at-risk mothers.
The Baby Fold also runs the Hammitt School, which educates children and adolescents between the ages of 5-21 who have behavioral or emotional disorders and require more intensive special education services than public schools are able to provide.
The Hammitt school is designed to assist students with individualized education plans allowing teachers to help any students who are impacted in the classroom by behavioral or emotional disorders.
Each Hammitt family receives monthly visits from a home interventionist to connect school and home for the student, giving each student the best chance for a successful life, through games and exercises to help develop critical thinking.
IWU’s chapter of Kappa Delta sorority has provided philanthropic support to the Baby Fold for over 100 years.
Members of Kappa Delta will be volunteering at the Festival of Trees.
Tickets for the Festival of Trees cost nine dollars in advance, 10 dollars at the door.
