How to make the most out of Illinois Wesleyan sports

Illinois Wesleyan has a lot of sports teams.

Whether you are a first-year who just wants to start bleeding green and white as soon as possible or a junior who just started dating an athlete (despite never watching any sports before,) here are five tips for getting the most out of Titans athletics.

1. Go with friends.

Even if you don’t watch a lot of sports, it’s always fun to hang out with friends.

This is a must-have if you are attending a sporting event you don’t understand (shoutout lacrosse, swimming and diving and tennis.)

2. Dress for the part.

Going all out not only helps you get into your Titan spirit, but it may get you on the fan cam for events hosted inside the Shirk Center.

3. Don’t be afraid to get loud.

No one wants to sit in silence at a sporting event.

Cheer for the Titans, come up with some chants, but keep it civil.

4. Keep up to date.

With so many events going on, it’s going to be impossible to keep track of everything in your head. Keep up to date by looking at the athletic calendar on iwusports.com or by reading The Argus weekly.

5. Have fun.

Watching sports should be fun. So go out and relax after a long day of classes and homework.
