CAB Escape Room
On Jan. 10, 2025, the “Escape Room Night” event was held at the Hansen Student Center. The event featured two themed escape rooms: one based on a zombie apocalypse and the other inspired by vampires.
In each room, groups of six to eight participants were challenged to solve six mini puzzles within 15 minutes in order to escape. In addition to the games, popcorn and drinks were provided, creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere for students.
Mindful Mocktails
On Jan. 14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the “Mindful Mocktails” event was held at the Dugout. During the event, students were offered free non-alcoholic drinks with flavors such as melon, kiwi and strawberry. The event provided a relaxing and enjoyable break for students during the day.
Sourcebooks Speakers
On January 14, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., the Hart Career Center hosted a Publishing Careers event featuring IWU alumni Kay Birkner ’06, Associate Director of Training and Development, and Gigi Curran, Associate Director of Talent Acquisition at Sourcebooks, a top 5 publisher based in Naperville, Ill. Students learned about the wide range of careers in the publishing industry, including editorial, marketing, data, design and accounting.
The speakers shared insights on breaking into the industry and answered questions from attendees, providing a valuable opportunity to hear firsthand from professionals in the field. The event offered students practical guidance and inspiration for pursuing careers in publishing.
RSO Spring Fair
On Jan. 15, 2026, the RSO fair took place at the Memorial Center, giving students the opportunity to explore a wide range of registered student organizations on campus. Throughout the event, clubs promoted their activities and encouraged students to get involved.
Organizations such as The Argus, the Crochet Club, the Biology Club and many others attracted attention with their unique missions and projects. The fair created a welcoming and energetic atmosphere, highlighting the diversity of student life and encouraging campus engagement.
