CAB Karaoke Night 

Friday, March 4, 7-8:30 p.m.

Hansen Student Center

 

Campus Activities Board (CAB)’s karaoke night will be on Friday for students to show off their musical talents. The night will be emceed by musician comedian Morgan Jay. The event is free to attend. 

 

High School Math and Physics Competition

Saturday, March 5, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. 

Center for Natural Sciences (CNS) 

There will be a math and physics competition, hosted by The Society for Physics Students and Pi Mu Epsilon, for high school students on campus. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Students can attend and watch local high-schoolers demonstrate their math and physics knowledge for a chance to earn prizes and hear from Grant Sanderson, who is a popular YouTube mathematician. 

 

School of Music guest performance

Saturday, March 5, 3-5 p.m.

Westbrook Auditorium, Presser Hall

Boyd Mackus, baritone, & John Wustman, piano, will perform Schubert’s “Winterreise” as guest performers. 

 

Unity Gala 

Saturday, March 5, 7 -11:59 p.m.

Hansen Student Center

Sponsored by the Alliance and Student Senate, the Unity Gala is for students, staff, faculty and alums. The Unity Gala will consist of jazz, hors d’oeuvres and dancing. 

This event is free to the IWU campus community and is not open to the public.

 

Yoga in Spanish

Wednesday, March 9, 5-6 p.m.

Niepagen Southeast Classroom, Shirk Center

Students can dedicate time to their bodies and minds while practicing Spanish at “Yoga in Spanish” at Shirk Center. All levels of language skills and physical abilities are welcomed. This event is sponsored by the Language Resource Center. 

 

OSI hosts Samantha Ramirez-Herrera

Wednesday, March 9, 7-8 p.m.

Hansen Student Center

The Office of Student Involvement (OSI) will bring Samantha Ramirez-Herrera to campus as part of their Spring 2022 Leadership Speaker Series, “Authentically Leading through Identity.” Ramirez plans to speak about her creative career, the highs and lows, the failures and successes, and everything in between.

 

Writing Center personal statement workshop

Thursday, March 10, 5-6 p.m.

Zoom

The Writing Center will host a personal statement workshop on Zoom for students who are interested in learning how to write for medical field applications. 

Students should email ascanlon@iwu.edu for the link and passcode. Those unable to attend can request Dr. Scanlon for a recording of the workshop approximately one week after the workshop. 

 

Last day to withdraw from a second-half of semester class

Friday, March 11

The deadline will be March 11 for students who wish to drop a second 7-week course from their schedule should contact the registrar.

 

Spring Break

Saturday, March 12 – Sunday, March 20

IWU students, faculty and staff will observe spring break.
