The latest Dan Brown novel questions the human psyche

The latest Dan Brown novel questions the human psyche.

Although the title is less than original, Dan Brown’s newest novel, “The Secret of Secrets,” is an ambitious story of codes, scientific discovery and ancient wisdom.

The new thriller novel is the sixth book in Brown’s acclaimed Robert Langdon series.

For zealous fans, it has been eight long years since Brown’s last book featuring the fictional code-solving Harvard professor, Robert Langdon.

Since publishing “The Da Vinci Code” in 2003, Brown’s popularity has grown with each novel he has published.

The series has been adapted into a film franchise, and later a TV show, “The Lost Symbol” (based on Brown’s 2009 novel), on Peacock, and Netflix has already confirmed a deal to release another TV adaptation.

But it is unclear who will play the famous Professor Robert Langdon.

The novel may be fiction, but its content encourages readers to open their minds to new ways of thinking about our reality through references to real organizations and genuine results of scientific experiments.

Brown introduces readers to noetic science and the study of human consciousness through a fast-paced journey in Prague, featuring his characters Robert Langdon and Langdon’s longtime friend, Katherine Solomon, a famed noetic scientist and aspiring author.

When Solomon goes missing and her digital manuscript is hacked, Robert Langdon steps in but soon finds himself trapped in a web of powerful government organizations.

He soon finds that Solomon’s scientific work regarding human consciousness poses a threat to the organizations that work in the shadows of the US government.

Aside from the appealing and energetic plot, Brown’s novel promotes the idea that all human beings are interconnected through the reality of consciousness.

Through the narrative, Brown questions the validity of the divisions that humans have created and cultivated in today’s world. Why have division when we are one?

Brown touches on ancient unanswered questions that continue to be motives for human behavior. What happens when we die? Does consciousness survive death, like many religions suggest? How does the fear of death motivate people?

While on the surface this novel may not seem to be anything extraordinary, it offers a small dose of optimism in a time when humans are more divided in ideologies, lifestyles, and viewpoints than ever.

“The Secret of Secrets” pushes readers to question the commonly accepted views on human consciousness, embrace connection with others, and consider that humanity can and should become less fixated on our differences.
