The Kappa Delta’s Omicron chapter held their annual Shamrock Week from March 30 to April 2, 2026, with a series of philanthropy events aimed at supporting children and families both locally and nationwide.

Shamrock Week is a long-standing tradition for Kappa Delta chapters across the country, dedicated to raising awareness and funds for organizations that focus on preventing child abuse and supporting healthy childhood development. Last school year, Kappa Delta’s Shamrock Week received the ‘Do Well, Do Good Social Program of the Year’ award for their monumental efforts in fundraising for children needing support.

This year, Kappa Delta raised nearly $1,500 for their philanthropic partners, Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA) and The Baby Fold, a local nonprofit offering various family support programming and initiatives including foster care, early childhood planning, academic and special-education support, adoption services and more.

The 2026 Shamrock Week saw a return of the Kappa Delta Carnival after a two-year hiatus. Leading up to the carnival, Kappa Delta hosted multiple smaller fundraisers, such as a thrifting collaboration with the local business Clothes Mentor, a Chipotle food fundraiser, and a KD Krumbl Cookie bake sale featuring three “Crumbl Cookie mock” flavors homemade by the Kappa Deltas.

The Kappa Delta Carnival on April 2, 2026, was the main event of Shamrock Week. Held inside the Young Main Lounge due to inclement weather, the Carnival included carnival treats (popcorn, cotton candy, and refreshments), spin-to-win games, seventeen raffle baskets and the Pie a President/Professor event, where members of the campus community could purchase the chance to pie fraternity and sorority life (FSL) presidents, as well as select Illinois Wesleyan professors and staff.

Kappa Delta’s Vice President of Events and Programming, Hannah Rogers, was responsible for revamping the nostalgic carnival event and credited the program’s success to the IWU community.

“It was so nice to have all of the support from other Greek life presidents and so many professors on campus,” said Rogers, “It really shows what a tight-knit community we have here.”

Through the combined efforts of the fundraisers and the carnival, Kappa Delta raised over $1500 on just a $200 budget.

The success of this year’s Shamrock Week would not have been possible without the overwhelming support of FSL leaders, students, family members, and faculty and staff, who all contributed by promoting events and attending and giving back. Thanks to the generosity of the Titan community, the Omicron chapter was able to continue to support vital work through PCAA and The Baby Fold and promote safe and supportive environments for children both locally and nationwide.
