Fall Break Day

Students and faculty will have the day off of classes next Friday for IWU’s annual fall break day.

Any students that plan to withdraw from a full semester class must to do by October 18. Contact the Registrar’s office for more information. 

 

Pride Alliance Fruit Mixer

October 18, 6-7 p.m.

Young Main Lounge

     An event where students and faculty of the LGBTQ+ community as well as allies can network, socialize, and enjoy delicious fruit.  This event is free and refreshments will be provided. Sponsored by Pride Alliance.

 

Career Center Walk-in Wednesday

October 20, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Hart Career Center

     The Hart Career Center will hold their weekly walk-in for for students to get their resumes checked, ask internship questions, and practice interview questions.

    Students interested should visit the Hart Career Center on the second floor of the Welcome Center.

 

OSI “How to Market RSO Events” workshop

October 20, 12-1 p.m.

Hansen Student Center

     The Office of Student Involvement is holding continued training for RSOs that wanted to attend more workshops. This event will be focused on the topic of how to successfully navigate marketing RSO events to increase turnout at your events.      Anyone from an RSO can attend, but executive board members that handle marketing/social media might receive a greater benefit.

 

Maker Space Workshop

October 20, 4-6 p.m.

IDEA Center

    The IDEA center will host their bi-weekly workshop where students can learn how to use 3D printers, sewing machines, laser cutters, embroidery equipment, vinyl printing and more. This free event is open to all students, faculty and staff.

“Boundaries” gallery talk

October 21, 6-7 p.m.

Ames School of Art building

  There will be a “Boundaries” gallery talk by Professor of English Kathleen O’Gorman. 

   O’Gorman and her daughter, Anah Jacob, visited numerous detention centers on behalf of the Center for Human Rights and Constitutional Law and, along with others, took the declarations of detained children to document their treatment and work to improve their situations.

 

Retro Video Game Night

    The IDEA Center will host a free retro-themed video game night for students, faculty and staff.

“Life’s a Dream” begins streaming

October 22-24

Virtual

      The IWU School of Theatre Arts (SOTA) will begin streaming their fall main-stage play, “Life’s a Dream” through ShowTix4U. The show will be available to stream for 48 hours. 

 

Fall Choral Concert

October 24, 3-4 p.m.

WesleyUnited Methodist Church 

The School of Music will present their fall choral concert.
