CAB hosts “Quad Day”

April 9, 4-7 p.m.

CAB hosts “Quad Day”April 9, 4-7 p.m.The Campus Activities Board (CAB) will have several activities for students to participate in on the quad throughout the day. The event will include donuts, succulent planting, a Kona ice truck and virtual Titan Trivia. 

IWU to host JWP Research Conference

April 10

Students will participate in the John Wesley Powell Research Conference where they will showcase their research for the IWU community. The event will also include keynote Graham Hatfull who is the former chair of the Biology Department at the University of Pittsburgh (UOP) and currently the Eberly Family Professor of Biotechnology at UOP. 

Student Art Exhibition holds awards ceremony

April 10, 1-3 p.m.

As part of the John Wesley Powell Research Conference, the Joyce Eichhorn Ames School of Art will have a reception and awards ceremony for the 34th Annual Student Art Exhibition.

ODI hosts Multicultural graduation

April 11, 11-1 p.m.

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) will hold their annual spring event where they celebrate and honor the accomplishments of graduating students of color. The link has been provided via email. Anyone who did not receive the link and would like to should contact vtorres@iwu.edu

SOM to present concert series

April 11

The School of Music will host a series of musical performances including an opera performance, a wind ensemble and student composition concerts and recitals. The performances will take place at 1 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. All of the links for the performances will be posted as they premiere on www.iwu.edu/music/events/

Student Senate holds general assembly

April 11, 6 p.m.

All student senate meetings for the Spring 2021 semester will be held via Zoom. All of the meetings are open to the entire student body. Students are encouraged to attend and discuss issues they feel need to be addressed on campus.  

OSI hosts Student Involvement Awards

April 12, 7 p.m.

The Office of Student Involvement (OSI) will recognize student leaders and student organizations during the 2021 Student Involvement Awards ceremony. The ceremony will be live-streamed via Zoom for the IWU community.

IWU presents “Take Back The Night”

April 13, 6:30-8 p.m.

As part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, IWU will join the YWCA McLean County Stepping Stones and Illinois State University to “Take Back the Night” and raise awareness for sexual violence and support survivors in their healing process. Attendees will hear from featured speakers and learn more about what services are offered to survivors in our community. Anyone is welcome to attend.

Kemp Foundation hosts awards ceremony

April 14

The Kemp Foundation’s Teaching Excellence Award ceremony will take place throughout the day. 

Ames presents COVID Time Capsule Dedication

April 14, 12-12:30 p.m.

The Spring 2021 FYE Citizen Scholars will host the COVID Time Capsule Dedication at the Ames Library. The time capsule will contain items and photos that capture the impact of COVID at IWU. The Class of 2024 will also be invited to write a letter to themselves that will be stored in the capsule to be opened in 2029 at the five-year homecoming. Pieces of these letters are the inspiration behind an original poem being read at the dedication. There will also be a mask mosaic containing a collage of photos of members of the IWU community in their masks. The mosaic along with the time capsule will be on display on the 4th floor of Ames.

SOM presents Jazz Ensemble

April 14, 8 p.m.

The School of Music will have a jazz ensemble concert. The event will premiere online at the listed time and then be available on demand. Links will be posted at www.iwu.edu/music/events/.
