The Illinois Wesleyan women’s volleyball team remains undefeated to start their 2025 season following a three-match sweep during a cross-country trip to Georgetown, Texas.

Following their home opener tournament, where senior libero Kannyn Boyd earned herself American Volleyball Coaches Association National Player of the Week honors, the green and white hit the road to compete in the SU Invitational hosted by Southwestern University.

The Titans first swept the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs in their opening match.

This was led by defensive efforts of Boyd and sophomore outside hitter Alex Bardionitous, who totaled a combined 25 digs.

With the Titan defense doing its job, the offense led by senior outside hitter Taylor French could finish it off and send the Bulldogs home with a win in three straight sets.

The Bulldog beatdown included the Green and White posting 18 service aces, which ties for the most in a three-set match and is tied for second-most in any match in program history.

In the second match, the Puget Sound Loggers would not go down without a fight, sending the first two sets into extra points.

Puget Sound nearly nabbed the first set by taking the lead late in the set, but the Titans managed to notch the set with a service ace from junior setter Sophia Feeney.

With 18 assists, Feeney hit a career milestone of 1000 career assists and is now ranked 16th in career assists in Illinois Wesleyan program history.

The Titans toppled the Loggers in three sets.

Finally, in a battle for the superior green and white team, the Titans completed their final match of the weekend against the Southwestern Pirates with a 3-0 win, marking the Titans’ 6th win this season.

While the Titans’ takeover of Texas is complete, their road trips are not.

The Titans matches stay on the road until they return for the second IWU Tournament, on September 19. The tournament will be hosted at the Shirk Center starting at 4:30 p.m.
