Illinois Wesleyan University reintroduces Greek Week

Last week, Illinois Wesleyan University Interfraternity Council and Paneahelic Board hosted their Greek Week, a celebration among members of Greek life collaborating with other Greek organizations.

Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) unofficially kicked off Greek Week 2025 with their Charity Pickleball Tournament on Sunday, March 23.

Hosted at the Shirk Center, eleven teams of two competed for DP Dough gift cards donated by the Office of Student Involvement (OSI.)

All proceeds from the event went toward St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and through their efforts, TKE raised $224.

“I was super excited to see Greek Week make a return to campus and it was an honor for our house to get to kick things off,” Cayden Webster, chapter president of TKE, said.

On Monday, March 24, Greek orgs met at Hansen Student Center for the first official event: a banner painting day.

Each organization was given a fabric banner to paint, which then hung in Hansen throughout the week.

On Tuesday, Tommy’s hosted a Musical Bingo night, offering free barbeque for dinner for members of Greek Organizations.

“I am grateful that Greek Week has returned to campus!” Emma Kudelka, president of Kappa Delta, said. “I hope that, if it were to continue, it would be planned more in advance so that more people would be available to attend events. A lot of FSL is heavily involved in the campus-community, so organizing times for all of the chapters to bond can be difficult. However, it’s a great initiative and I hope to see more in the future! Kappa Delta  was really looking forward to the Greek Formal and we also enjoyed the music bingo,” Kudelka said.

On Wednesday, the Greeks played field games on the quad and dodgeball at the Shirk Center.

Students competed with inter-Greek teams in the activities, including an egg toss, three-legged race, tug-of-war and more.

On Thursday, students were scheduled to visit Jack Horenburger field to show support for Titan Baseball’s first home conference game against North Park University.

Despite the game being delayed until Friday, one fraternity still showed up in a different way: Theta Chi, who has over ten brothers on the baseball team.

On Friday night, Hansen Student Center hosted a “Greek Gatsby” themed formal and Greek Week ended with a visit to the recently renovated Inspiration Field for the softball teams’s St. Jude / Cancer Awareness Games.

“Bringing Greek Week back to IWU is incredibly meaningful to me because it represents more than just a series of events—it’s about restoring a sense of connection, tradition, and pride within our community,” said Morgan Pulliam, director of OSI. I love Greek life because it creates a sense of belonging and connection that extends far beyond the college years. Itt’s about forming lifelong friendships, growing as a leader, and being part of something bigger than yourself. No matter the letters, we are all Greek together, and Greek Week helps everyone remember that,” Pulliam said.
