Yoruba and the World: Language, Culture & Music

There will be two Nigerian special guests, Bayo Adanri and Tope Awe who are in the same Yoruba ethnic group, “Ljesha.” This event will walk students through history, language, culture and music. The event is sponsored by the Language Resource Center. 

 

19th Annual Drag Show

Saturday, March 26, 7-10pm

Hansen Student Center

 

IWU will celebrate their 19th annual Drag show hosted by Pride and the Campus Activities Board. 

This event will feature performances from student performers, local artists and the main star Latrice Royale. 

There will be booths and basket prizes from local companies and all money raised will go to the student initiative to install more gender neutral bathrooms on campus.

Student senate meetings are open for students with concerns or would just like to listen to attend. 

 

Project LEAD Panel 

Tuesday, March 29, 5:30-7:30 pm

Local educators will present and students can learn more about inclusivity in classrooms and how to approach it as a future educator. Project LEAD aims to create an inclusive environment on campus and assists in advocating for individuals who identify as being a person of color, LGBTQIA2S+, or disabled people who are interested in the field of education. 

 

Career Center Walk-in Wednesday

Wednesday, March 30, 10am-12 pm, 1-3:30pm

Second floor of Minor Myers Welcome Center

The Hart Career Center will hold their weekly Wednesday walk-in hours from 10 am – 12 pm and 1 pm – 3:30 pm. Students can stop in for quick questions about their resumes, internships or the job search, interview preparation and any other career-related questions.
