In a recent announcement on Tuesday, Oct. 17, Illinois Wesleyan University’s men’s swimming and diving team celebrated freshman Jack Hansen’s recognition as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Co-swimmer of the Week. Hansen, hailing from Naperville, Ill.-Benet Academy, received this accolade for the first time this season, sharing the honor with Kacper Cebula from Augustana College.

Hansen’s commendable performance unfolded during a dual meet against Lewis University on Friday, Oct. 13, where he contested in the men’s 50-yard breaststroke, 100-yard breaststroke, and the 100-yard butterfly. Notably, he secured third place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.31, and fifth place in both the 50-yard breaststroke (28.79) and the 100-yard butterfly (56.99).

This recognition places Hansen as the first member of the men’s swimming and diving team to receive the award since Mason McCauley achieved the honor on Jan. 18, 2022.

Looking ahead, Hansen and the Titans are gearing up for their home opener on Saturday, Oct. 28, as they host the IWU Halloween Invite.
