Illinois Wesleyan University Women’s Golf Team Primed for 18th CCIW Championship Defense

The Illinois Wesleyan University women’s golf team is poised to defend its standing as a perennial force in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Championship. Scheduled from October 5th to 7th at the Metamora Fields Golf Course, the tournament holds significance as the team strives for its 18th championship.

According to the recently released Pre-Championship Coaches Poll on October 4th, Illinois Wesleyan University emerged as the favored contender, securing 64 points and eight first-place votes. Augustana trails behind in second place with 55 points and a singular first-place nod.

Representing the university are seasoned seniors Emma Thorman and Lexi Onsrud, complemented by juniors Macy Ludwig, Jacque O’Neill, Jadyn Spinks, and the recently introduced Kylie Hundman. In the preceding 2022 championship, the team’s commendable performance saw all six players earning all-CCIW honors, with Onsrud claiming the prestigious tournament medalist title.

The commencement of the first-round action is scheduled for 8 a.m., wherein Illinois Wesleyan University will be paired with Augustana and Millikin. Kylie Hundman is slated to lead the team in this initial phase. Live updates can be monitored through Golf Stat.
