Following a prolonged weather delay, the Illinois Wesleyan men’s soccer team faced off against Wabash College and played to a 1-1 tie on the road. Unfortunately, the game was called early due to darkness.

This tie leaves Illinois Wesleyan with an overall record of 2-3-2, while Wabash now holds its third tie of the season, maintaining an overall record of 3-2-3.

Junior Mush Bakirdan (Morton, Ill.-Morton) was the standout player for the Titans, scoring the only goal of the match on a penalty kick in the 35th minute. The Little Giants quickly answered back with their lone goal, just five minutes later.

As the second half unfolded, both teams displayed a balanced performance, with neither side finding the back of the net. With the game reaching the 80th-minute mark, it was prematurely ended due to darkness, resulting in a 1-1 draw.

The Titans also made the journey to Wheaton College on Saturday, Sept. 30, with kickoff slated for 7 p.m. at Joe Bean Stadium.
